Misaligned components within an Oriented Strand Board line (OSB) can often be the root cause of poor tracking of conveyor systems and operational problems with the loader, the press and the unloader sections. Misalignment can also contribute to product defects such as rough or uneven saw cuts and out-of-square panels. In severe cases improper alignment can result in excessive chain and sprocket wear as well as premature failure of bearings, bushings and other hardware. The most effective way of inspecting and correcting misalignment in OSB production lines is through the use of optical tooling. The procedures and tooling employed by OASIS can ensure that your equipment is aligned to tolerances that will allow running at optimal speeds while producing the highest possible product quality. Even if your equipment was precisely aligned at the time of installation, the inevitable movement and settling of buildings and equipment over the course of time will cause misalignment. Routine maintenance activities as well as section upgrades, when undertaken without regard to precision alignment, can also degrade the overall alignment condition of your machine. Diagnostic alignment surveys, and the timely completion of any necessary adjustments, should be a part of any OSB plant's preventative maintenance program. Not only can OASIS provide the services necessary to diagnose the alignment condition of your OSB line, we can correct any misalignment found using our own mechanical teams. OASIS is fully capable of performing a wide range of mechanical services from the correction of misalignment conditions to the complete installation of, or upgrades to, OSB line conveying systems. See our Mechanical Services page for additional information concerning our capabilities. Consistent results are assured no matter what equipment you run because OASIS has developed a comprehensive and uniform training program for all service engineers and technicians, as well as an extensive library of documentation for most equipment. We have inspected, aligned and adjusted more than 20,000 pieces of machinery. Our breadth of experience is unparalleled. Precision Alignment Can Result In:
