SERVICE OFFERINGS

FORMING SECTION

Headbox

Machine Alignment Check and Reset: Many serious operational problems such as poor guiding of wires, shortened wire life from skewing or wear, poor formation, inconsistent CD profile, poor dewatering, and roll wear are attributed to the misalignment of the paper machinery. Regular alignment checks and resets are required to keep the machine operating at its peak performance.

Cantilever Inspection: The cantilever system, including the beams, removable blocks, outriggers, and supports are inspected to insure that proper alignment is maintained.

Slice Profile System Inspection: Many important paper properties such as basis weight profiles, moisture profiles, and fiber orientation are greatly effected by the slice profile system. Routine inspections by qualified service technicians can insure that the system in operating at peak performance.

Re-profile Slice Adjusters: When changes are made in the forming area such as the installation of a new slice or apron lip, or alignment of the forming board, the slice lip should be reset level to the apron. Service personnel can carry out the task along with a headbox inspection.

Slice Body Jack Setup: When old, damaged slice body jacks need replacement, it is crucial that the replacement jacks are setup properly so that the slice body moves uniformly. Service engineers are highly experienced at timing these critical devices properly.

Breast Roll Lift, Stretcher, Air Motor Inspection: Proper operation of the breast roll lift mechanism is important to the safe operation of the paper machine. Regular inspections of this equipment can help to reduce the risk of accidents associated with adjusting the breast roll.

Draining Element Inspection: Worn or damaged forming elements have an adverse effect of sheet quality. Service engineers can inspect the drainage elements on a regular basis and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements to the mill.

Forming Zone Alignment Check: The proper alignment of the forming zone is critical to many paper properties and proper equipment life. Regular alignment checks of this important area of the paper machine help to optimize paper quality while reducing machine maintenance.

PRESS

Press Alignment Check and Reset: Many serious operational problems such as wrinkles, excessive breaks, inconsistent CD profile, poor felt guiding, poor nip impressions, shortened felt life, vibration, and roll wear are attributed to the misalignment of the paper machinery. Regular alignment checks and resets are required to keep the machine operating at its peak performance.

Guide and Stretcher Maintenance and Inspection: Costly paper machine fabrics can be damaged or destroyed when guides and stretchers don't work properly. Service engineers inspect the guides and stretchers throughout the paper machine to insure their proper setup and operation.

Threading and Rope System Inspection: A properly used threading and rope system can thread a machine quickly and keep mill personnel away from potential danger zones. Service engineers inspect the threading and rope systems throughout the paper machine to insure their safe and proper setup and operation.

Cantilever Inspection: The cantilever system, including the beams, removable blocks, outriggers, and supports are inspected to insure that proper alignment is maintained.

Draining Element Inspection: Worn or damaged forming elements have an adverse effect of sheet quality. Service engineers can inspect the drainage elements on a regular basis and provide recommendations for repairs or improvements to the mill.

Press Performance Audit: Press specialists complete a press section performance audit to determine the condition of all press equipment and systems. The technicians evaluate performance problems and offer solutions to improve press exiting dryness, overall runability, and efficiency of the mill's equipment.

ENP and ENP-C Maintenance and Inspection: Extended Nip Presses are the heart of many paper machines. Proper operation and maintenance of this complex equipment is essential to keep these machines operating at peak performance. Service engineers can audit ENP systems, including the hydraulic units, shoe loading system, oil collection system, wipes, doctors and controls to insure their proper setup and operation.

DRYERS

Machine Alignment Check and Reset: Machine Alignment Check and Reset: Many serious operational problems such as wrinkles, baggy edges, poor felt guiding, inconsistent CD profile, moisture, poor sheet tracking, and vibration are attributed to the misalignment of the paper machinery.

General maintenance is completed as required.

Threading and Rope System Inspection: A properly used threading and rope system can thread a machine quickly and keep mill personnel away from potential danger zones. Service engineers inspect the threading and rope systems throughout the paper machine to insure their safe and proper setup and operation.

FINISHING - Finish Stack, Reel, Super Calenders, Winders/Rewinders

Machine Alignment Check and Reset: Many serious operational problems such as wrinkles, sheet breaks, inter-weaving, offsets, poor starts, and vibration are attributed to the misalignment of the paper machinery. Regular alignment checks and resets are required to keep the machine operating at its peak performance.

Threading and Rope System Inspection: A properly used threading and rope system can thread a machine quickly and keep mill personnel away from potential danger zones. Service engineers inspect the threading and rope systems throughout the paper machine to insure their safe and proper setup and operation.

Reel Performance Audit: An inspection of the reel framework, rolls and mechanics is conducted as related to machine production, paper quality, maintenance, and safety.

Spool Loading System Inspection: Service engineers inspect the reel spool loading system to insure the proper setup and operation.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

Project Managers provide planning for maintenance shutdowns, equipment rebuilds and installations. The planning team computes hours, manpower, resource requirements, utility needs, and parts delivery. They assess crane capacities, door clearances, floor load capacities, machine room access. The result is maximum crew efficiency and minimal machine downtime.

CUSTOM IN-MILL TRAINING

OASIS can provide in-mill training on paper and finishing machinery or machine component alignment. Sessions are not limited to lectures; class participation is encouraged and actual equipment is used for hands-on training.
