Misaligned components within a roofing line can often be the root cause of poor tension and tracking control of the mat. Misalignment will also contribute to product defects such as uneven asphalt coating, inconsistent granule distribution, and improperly cut shingles. In severe cases improper alignment can result in excessive chain and sprocket wear as well as premature failure of bearings, bushings and other hardware.
